I bring a lot of experience and dedication this position. Elven years ago, I saw a need for content-specific professional development. I took it upon myself to advocate and create that for the district's health/PE teachers. I still serve in that role and provide training and resources from the state/national conferences that I attend every year. I am serving as the president-elect for our state's health/PE organization which has allowed me to take my leadership skills to a new level, beyond our district. I attend monthly meetings with other school district coordinators for health/PE. These collaborative discussions allow me to gain perspective and knowledge that can be applied to our district. My role as the athletic director is something I take seriously because I attend the annual conference and take courses towards the national certification for middle school athletic directors. While I served in the US Army, I was a junior non-commissioned officer that was responsible for teams of soldiers while providing training and upholding standards. All of these positions speak to my dedication, passion and leadership.
I am dedicated to providing high quality physical education instruction to my students that allows them to development skills and knowledge to participate in lifetime activities. For the past eight eight years, I have received the Adams 14 Foundation grants which has allowed me to create an engaging curriculum every year.
Additionally, I am the league commissioner for the middle school league that Kearney is apart of. This requires me to provide scheduling, resources, conflict resolution and communication for 10 schools. Currently, I am taking on courses to receive my Registered Middle School Athletic Administrator certification.
Coached soccer as an assistant and head coach for the past 10 years. I balance this responsibility with my athletic director job very well. My success comes from the people I work with and my ability to delegate tasks and prioritize tasks.
I was involved in two state missions for the state of Colorado. Served as a junior non-commissioned officer for the 1157th FSC. Received the Army Achievement Medal during my unit's annual training in 2014.
