Training in medical device commercialization, and the associated intellectual property challenges.
Conducting observation sessions to identify issues and challenges related to medical devices in the ORs. The surgical specialties included: neurosurgery, obstetrics, otorhinolaryngology, cardiovascular surgery, orthopedics, and general surgery at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
As a result, we were able to make early discoveries and draft concept designs for new medical devices.
Led and taught a summer workshop for the CMTI MS students: Digital Flow for Medical Applications, where students developed organic modeling, 3D scanning, and 3D printing skills for the rapid medical device prototyping session.
