Boise Cascade opened a new millwork branch in Denver last year that specializes in custom doors. When I was hired, I saw an empty warehouse transform into full of products and all the steps it took to get there. From creating inventory locations to establishing a strong assembly line and delivery techniques. Boise Cascade has helped me to see the big picture when it comes to business, from start to finish. A few things I do regularly are

• Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying items on production orders
• Sort/pull materials for scanning to meet production goals
• Unload and receive freight
• Operate various types of equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, to safely transport materials throughout the facility
• Load trucks with outgoing shipments, adhering to weight restrictions and proper stacking methods to minimize risk of damage during transit

My time at Lowe's has brought a whole new set of challenges to face and conquer. From stocking to servicing to customer service, I've been able to do a bit of everything. I am certified on the sit-down and stand-up forklifts through here, as well as an order picker. I frequently load customers' product with a forklift and unload trucks full of product. Customers would request project cuts on their lumber material that I would fufill. I have had to set up leads and orders for customers on there DIY projects.

Working at Big R introduced me to the working world. I gained a lot of customer service experience here, as well as handling freight and customer orders. Big R expanded on my people skills from school, knowledge of the workings of retail, and allowed me to float around and learn as much as possible from my leaders.
