• Part-time position preparing individual tax returns, supervising tax preparers and keeping a set of books for the parent company. Included all accounting from tracking and paying invoices to presenting monthly and annual financial statements.

• Permanent, Full-time position. Oversaw clerks input of A/P invoices, preparation of sales invoices, data entry including recording receipt of receivables. Prepared financials monthly quarterly and annually. Prepared and analyzed analytical reports. Reconciled all balance sheet accounts. Did all journal entries (accrual based accounting) including recurring entries. Closed books monthly and annually.

• Reconciled all Balance Sheet accounts. Oversaw A/P clerk. Handled all payroll, including preparing and cutting checks, government reports and payment of payroll taxes. In an accrual accounting system, I prepared journal entries and ran financial statements monthly and annually. Prepared work papers for all annual audits and provided support to the external audit team. Coordinated reports from all YMCA branches in Metro Denver and provided support to branch office managers and staff. Converted the accounting system from a Unix based system to Windows base system.

• Did all accounting, payroll and tax duties for an oil well development and management company. Prepared dividend checks for 4 limited partnerships as well as for the managing company. Figured depletion allowances and figured and paid severance and other oil related taxes for wells located in Louisiana, Texas and Oklahoma.

• Ran a bookkeeping and tax service for small businesses in East Texas. Prepared financial statements, personal and business tax returns for various small businesses and professional offices in Tyler and surrounding towns.

• Prepared journal entries, reconciled bank and other asset accounts, and prepared individual tax returns. Large percentage of clients were in oil and gas related businesses.
