- Helped check on the sick and injured patients which are raptors 'birds of prey'. Can be from a small screech owl to a huge great horned owl. Usually worked around the great horned owls and red tails. The hardest bird for many was the red tailed hawks and horned owls which for me, I had zero problems with them. I had protected gear on, so it was safe but very nerve racking in the beginning.
- Other tasks while being in the ICU and cleaning the kennels was making sure if anything has changed with how the raptor stood, moved, or any distinct change in behavior of the bird.
- Cleaned out the kennels the raptors were in. Which was changing the papers, soft towels, and the water bowls inside the kennel.
- Maintained cleanliness in rodent living quarters for over 100 mice and rats, ensuring proper food and water supply to support their health and wellbeing.
- Documented care procedures and observations to support veterinary assessments.
- Followed directions from supervisors and completed tasks within appropriate timeframe.
- Assisted in rehabilitation of injured raptors for wildlife release.
