Sean Pelton

For the past nine months I have been employed as a police officer with the City of Boulder. I was being paid to attend the police academy. Unfortunately during the police academy I sustained a knee injury that resulted in my voluntarily resignation from the department as I no longer feel confident in my ability to preform ground combatives. During my time with the Boulder Police Department I was responsible for learning about Colorado criminal law, practicing different arrest techniques, and learning valuable communication skills to help deescalate heightened situations.

In my senior year of college, I interned at the Boulder County District Attorneys Office. I was working directly for the paralegals and deputy district attorneys preforming various tasks on a daily basis. These projects included but were not limited to, assisting attorneys with reviewing and organizing witness reports, preparing various exhibits for attorneys for public meetings, zoning commission meetings, and legal resolutions, and reviewed jail correspondence between different suspects.

This was a internship that I held for two consecutive summers during my time as a full time college student. I was responsible for organizing legal filing system to maximize efficiency. I served as a first point of contact for the firm and communicated pertinent information to clients via phone, email, and mail.

Throughout high school I worked at a locally owned, high end japanese restaurant. Throughout my time I worked in a variety of roles including waiter, busser, food porter, kitchen staff, and sushi chef. Having experience in these different roles taught me about restaurant mechanics as a whole but also gave me the ability to work as needed in different positions.
