From a very young age, the realm of arts and creative writing has been crucial to my development. I began taking portrait photography during the beginning of my high school years. As a first generation immigrant, I sought to find a connection to the novelty of my surroundings. At first, I wanted to experiment with shading and color, reflecting the cold of the winter months that welcomed me into the U.S. Soon after, it became a passion to create a portfolio for personal enjoyment. As I adjusted to the changes natural to the transition of being in a new country, I began to journal. These narrations slowly developed into fantastic stories with a hint of reality to them. Creative writing was a form of scape that slowly transitioned into a coping mechanism and a materialization of my creative ideas.
