Provides primary care service to children, from birth to 19 years of age, including:

• Well child care to support optimal health and well-being of child within family unit.
• Prevention/diagnosis/management of common pediatric acute illnesses and chronic conditions in collaboration with supervising pediatrician.

Newborn Nursery

• Responsible for care of well newborn from delivery, through transition, to discharge.
• Management of neonate requiring admission to Intermediate Nursery.
• Stabilization and management of critical neonate awaiting transport to regional NICU.

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit

• Responsible for providing family-centered care to critically ill medical, surgical, and trauma patient.
• As charge nurse, responsible for staffing, coordinating admissions/transports, and supervising care provided to pediatric patients in PICU.

Newborn Nursery

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit

• Responsible for postoperative management of critically ill child prior to and following cardiothoracic surgery consisting of mechanical ventilation, pain management and sedation, titration of inotropic infusions, and hemodynamic monitoring.
• Precepted new graduate nurses and new hires.

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit

• Responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to medical, surgical, and trauma patients in PICU.
• As transport nurse, responsible for stabilization and management of critically ill child in referring institutions and en route to PICU.
• Precepted new graduate nurses.
