It is very important for me to find the origin and the relationship that music has with our own body, our own rhythm, and with the territory from which it comes (Taking into account the sounds of the territory, the worldview, and the raw materials with which the instruments are built), making music inevitably become a self-discovery. Furthermore, I consider that making music in a group leads us (consciously or unconsciously) to look directly into each other's eyes. It makes us recognize that we are all important, that we have similar quests, and that we can sometimes be the ones sharing knowledge and other times the ones receiving it. This creates closeness and empathy.
Currently, I have my own music studio where I direct two folklore drum groups, provide counseling to prepare university admission exams for future students, and give personalized instrument lessons. I also direct the sacred music choir at the Subachoque church (my place of residence).
In 2014, I co-founded Nuevo Arte Taller Creativo and served as its co-director until 2023. Within this project, I directed the Amaranto Choir (an amateur adult choir), the Alma Choir (a children's choir), and led the ethnic drum ensemble group from the Colombian coasts (Atlantic and Pacific), in addition to providing individual lessons in instruments such as piano, guitar, flute, and vocal technique.
I also have created the first choral festival for
amateur choirs in 2017-Subachoque.Have found resources for the creation of the Alma choir that benefits 21 children from the rural and
semi-rural area of Subachoque.
I have been working continuously with the Teatro Cafam de Bellas Artes (Bogotá) since 2011 as a music score reader for the zarzuela and opera seasons, and I have been the music score reader for the national New Year's concert on television since 2017 to the present.
Driven by my own curiosity and inclination to seek different sources of learning, I developeDrum a MuThe-instrumentalist musician I can competently play the piano, guitar, and flute, in terms of Western instruments
DrumundefinedIn the stories told by cultures, there is always encoded a great wisdom, from myths and legends to the sayings specific to regions, there are encrypted elements that lead us to learn about life and how to build a broader vision of human feelings. Moreover, it gives me pleasure to see the creative capacity we have in creating worlds with words.
