Project Manager III - Research Support, GPAC

  • Serves as the center's subject matter expert for financial matters, project support with TTO, procurement, legal, data management, and unique situations.
  • Develops and tracks GPAC's yearly financial goals based on center staffing and financial planning collaboratively with Center and Directorate leadership.
  • Manages the center's financial performance with in-depth reporting and analysis focused on programs funded and lead out of GPAC, direct project costing, indirect project budgeting and costing, and incoming and current project pipeline analysis.
  • Manages the center's project financial and staffing dashboards, available to all of GPAC and updated monthly, allowing PIs to easily access and review of their project financials and staffing on a monthly basis and, allowing researchers to review their coverage daily.
  • Works closely with other center project managers to align best practices and communication.
  • Established strong relationships with NREL's functional organizations (Technology Transfer, Finance, Accounting, Procurement, Legal, IT, and Data management) to ensure center staff have a contact when something unprecedented occurs.
  • Create and hosts financial management training for staff to learn and understand P2.0 tools and instill best practices in PIs.
  • Provides project management training to GPAC's research staff through job aids, Lunch and Learns and project management training courses.
  • Leads the Project Planning and Execution training Course for NREL.
  • Guides staffing, hiring and training of 3 Project Managers and 3 Project Controllers for GPAC's Project Support team. Serves as PM and PC mentor across the directorate.
