Artist Statement

My photography straddles the fence between artistic expression and environmental science communication. After spending years in an academic research environment, I have come to realize that much of the knowledge scientists have uncovered sits locked away in dense scientific papers, excluding the majority of the public. Climate science may be divisive in today's political environment, but photography and videography tap into the deep, bipartisan desire for adventure and connection with the land.
