Michael Merluzzi

Dedicated and energetic young professional with a strong passion for becoming a fully licensed secondary mathematics teacher. With 2.5 years of teaching experience across multiple schools and grade levels, I have served as the primary teacher of a classroom during that time span. As an alternate licensure teacher through CDE, I successfully maintained 77% of my student population at 75% or above in content knowledge on department standardized tests. Collaborating closely with my mentor teacher, we developed interactive lessons that incorporated movement into the classroom and utilized technology to deepen understanding. Additionally, I participated in COLive, a distance education program through the CDE, during its pilot season to witness the seamless integration of technology and curriculum. Through my middle school position, I have had the privilege of teaching each subject and regularly plan cross-curriculum lessons to maximize student growth, engagement, and self-agency.
