Lucy O'Dwyer

Cork,

Summary

I am currently in my final year of studying voice full time, under Mary Hegarty, in the MTU Cork School of Music on the Bachelor of Music degree. I have studied with Sonya Keogh, Majella Cullagh and Kelley Petcu too. I also play piano. I’ve been taking singing lessons since 2017 and piano since 2010. I am also teaching voice and piano lessons in Cork.

I am in the MTU Glór Choral Society (Ireland’s Choir of the Year 2023) and this is my third year on the committee, I am currently the Chairperson. I’m also in Cork School of Music’s mixed voice choir ‘Coro’ (formerly female voice choir ‘Capella Lyrica’). I was in the AiR choir with Sonya Keogh (ARTlifeCULTURE) from 2016 until 2020. I was heavily involved in the music department in my secondary school and we were closely involved with IABS (Irish Association of Barbershop Singers) as their Youth Chorus.

I took part in a production of Steve Reich’s ‘Music for 18 Musicians’ on Culture Night 2023 in the Curtis Auditorium, MTU Cork School of Music.

I am currently participating in the Sestina Exitex Next Generation Mentoring Programme and have upcoming performances in Belfast and Kilkenny in April 2024.
