Hello, my name is Lucien Boutin, and I’m a 21-year-old applying for this job in search of a more fulfilling career that I’m confident I will excel in. I've been involved in helping others recover from addiction for a long time and have been through a few recovery centers myself. I've been sober now for 15 months and have a solid understanding of the impact that a program like this can have on someone struggling with addiction.
Currently, I’m serving as Oxford House Vice Chapter Chair. My peers nominated me for this position 3 months ago. As Vice Chapter Chair I oversee six houses totaling just over 50 people, along with helping many people get into sober living situations to better their recovery.
When issues in the houses such as relapses and conflicts arise, I am the first call to neutralize the situation. This requires me to keep a constant loop of communication between me and the members of the houses, which I enjoy because I can show more support that way.
In addition to my work with Oxford House, since October, I have been working at Prohibition Smoke and Vape as a sales consultant. I also do volunteer work with a fitness-based organization called The Bridge, which helps people in recovery and incarcerated individuals integrate back into society. In my free time, I’m involved in boxing, rock climbing, and weightlifting events for my sobriety.
I’m very grateful about the opportunity to apply for this position. I'm looking for a full-time job in the recovery field. I’m very drawn to this field because I have a deep understanding of what people in recovery are going through since I've been through a lot of it myself. I consider myself to have a very outgoing, positive personality. I love what recovery facilities stand for, and I believe I’m fit to help these places and people as much as I can. I know that if I had someone like me around when I was younger and struggling, it would have made a positive difference in my life.
