- While working as an officer for the state of Colorado I interviewed for and was promoted to several specialty positions within my job area. Requiring specialized training, endorsements, qualifications and credentials including but not limited to specialized weapons qualifications on AR-15, Shot gun, Pistol, and taser. I began on Night shift at Territorial Correctional Facility in 2018 and worked as part of the Field training officer program helping to train newly hired officers to perform job functions after completing the initial training academy. In 2021 promoted and worked in the Central Transportation Unit as one of the only Female officers within the unit in a job which required that I maintain a class B CDL endorsement as well as multiple weapons systems certifications. In 2023 I returned to Territorial Correctional Facility and was promoted to Front Lobby officer assisting with visiting and safeguarding facility access until leaving the department of corrections in June of 2025 after giving birth to my son. During my time spent working in corrections I was responsible for facility access, monitoring entrances and screening visitors. I kept records and drafted reports detailing offender movements or rule violations, performed count and searches of offenders and their areas when appropriate, de-escalating situations and offenders as needed. Transported and assisted offenders to other fascitis, court appointments, doctors appointments, as well as parole. I searched vehicles entering and leaving premises, inspecting for contraband and trafficking offenses, and communicated with Staff, Offenders, and civilians to provide organization and understanding of policies and procedures.
