One of the first members of a new security team tasked with evaluating and improving processes within a medium-sized organization. The majority of my time is spent improving the security posture of our of containerized environments.

Key contributions:

• Most recently focused on security improvements and posture within EKS environments.
• Designed and implemented initial AWS WAF and Signal Sciences protections.
• Extensive Terraform work writing and maintaining modules and core Infrastructure-as-Code.

Hired as the first true infrastructure engineer, the position morphed into Site Reliability. My primary function was to write all of the Terraform required to codify their infrastructure and automate processes.
Key contributions:

• Wrote the entire Infrastructure-as-code stack in Terraform.
• Created development environment in Docker/Kubernetes.

Brought on as a contractor, my primary task was to convert existing manually managed infrastructure into Terraform for AWS. Focus was primarily on easily being able to spin up and tear down entire environments in multiple regions in AWS.
Key contributions:

• Wrote the codebase for their entire infrastructure.
• Lowered AWS costs by enabling the ability to quickly tear down unused resources.

The primary goal was to maintain infrastructure and AWS resources using Ansible.
Key contributions:

• Wrote Ansible playbooks for the entire infrastructure.

At ReactiveOps I had a unique opportunity to work for this consultancy with several different clients. Ansible was the primary tool and AWS the main cloud platform.
Key contributions:

• Contributed to several Ansible modules (in Python)
• Generated countless Ansible playbooks for different clients and needs.
