Through my first job as rural doctor I acquired negotiation skills because I had to work in an area with a wide influence of FARC guerrilla and with constant operations of Colombian army. Also, the healthcare team was in continuous relationship with delegates of the International Committee of the Red Cross. One of the most important abilities that I acquired is working in difficult environments with few resources. That’s how I learned to make decisions adapting to the information and resources available, whether scarce or abundant.
I worked in three public hospitals in rural areas and then I worked at Bogotá in private sector as doctor in a company that provides home medical assistance to Health Insurances users and patients of the health system.
All this accumulated experience in different environments, urban and rural, gave me the solid idea of working in an international organization, where I can development all my skills and knowledge. In fact, one of my academic passions apart of medicine is geopolitics, international law, and history.
I desire impact positively the society with my work through the application of human rights, international law, leadership, and knowledge.

This work was in several environments of Bogotá, one of the most chaotic, overpopulated, and unsafe cities of Latin America. One of the most important functions of my job as doctor in this company was the epidemiological surveillance, especially during the Covid 19 pandemic.
The skills that I developed were clinical analysis, effective communication, and problem-solving ability. During almost 10 years in this company, I grow up as professional through the consolidation of these skills and nearly 18.000 medical consultations attended.
