Achievement

• Design and implement a pH control strategy for alkalized juice that reduced investment in sucrose and the consumption of inputs. An annual recovery of US$40,000 was estimated. This work was presented at fifth IEEE Colombian Conference on Automatic Control.

• Managed the Distributed Control System (DCS) and the Safety Instrumented System (SIS) to ensure operation of entire ethanol production process.
• Designed and implemented control logic and strategies to automate different processes.
• Tuned multiple control loops to stabilize different processes.
• Integrated new equipment (drives, starters, controllers, PLCs, among others) into control system through industrial communication protocols.
• Planed, conducted and implemented alarm rationalization workshops to ensure operation within operating windows.

• Support and maintenance to the Foxboro I/A Series Distributed Control System
• Review and correction of control strategies, pre-commissioning and commissioning of DCS Foxboro in a biofuel plant.
• Analyzed, troubleshot and diagnosed problems and provided prompt repair and solutions.
• Engaged in first-level support for customers requiring routine support and troubleshooting.

• Participated in development of detailed engineering for one of the largest projects ambitious industrial automation initiatives in Colombia.
