27 years hands on experience with addiction
Immediately following graduation from college and through the next 27 years I fell into a battle with addiction. I used and abused most stimulants, hallucinogens, and briefly alcohol. i was a daily meth user as well as marijuana. I experienced incarceration s well as mental health facilities as a result. Throughout these years I encountered countless others in the same cycle of abuse. I was able to offer many guidance and direction for help while still in use. I am known for words of wisdom, advice, and bits of appropriate information at exactly the right time, for the right person, and specific problem.
At the beginning of this year I admitted myself to Cedar(the center for dependency and recovery) and participated in ground breaking research with UC health. I underwent brain surgery for Deep brain stimulation. Frequency blasting probes were implanted in my brain around the "meth seeking areas" determined by MRI technology. I continue to work with UC Health school of medicine in this regard. For me the research has deemed successful as I have been completely substance free for 8 months now. While at Cedar I started an affirmation for my future: complete 42 days of treatment, complete 36 hours of IOP(intense outpatient treatment), live in an Oxford House sober home, and finally come back to work at Cedar. Im proud to say I have succeeded at the first three and am now applying for my final goal. Please see attached letter from the lead psychologist of the study for more in formation.
