
Over 29 years of experience in law enforcement. Has received a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Political Science from the University of Eastern New Mexico in 1996. Has attended numerous training courses and schools in all areas of law enforcement. This training included a 40-hour course in Undercover/Plainclothes Investigations. Most recently attended the 56-hour Rocky Mountain HIDTA basic drug investigations course. In 2021, I participated in a two-day Rocky Mountain HIDTA Search and Seizure course. Further training includes specialized narcotics training in Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement, Marijuana Grows, Prescription Narcotics Abuse and quarterly refresher courses related to current narcotics issues. Past 13 years has been assigned to the Narcotics Unit and worked hundreds of cases involving Possession/Distribution of Controlled Substances, Prostitution, and Marijuana-related cases. Has been trained in the preservation and collection of evidence as well as the processing of crime scenes. Further, conducted and assisted in hundreds of operations involving stationary and mobile surveillance. Through prior arrests and narcotics investigations, has become familiar with the appearance of different narcotics, the packaging of narcotics, methods of illegal narcotics sale and or trafficking, street terms and names for different narcotics and materials and paraphernalia used with and associated with the use of illegal narcotics. Has interviewed and discussed with defendants, confidential sources, and experienced Vice/Narcotics Detectives, the techniques and methods used for narcotics distribution and other narcotic related offenses. Has directed and controlled confidential informants in the past. In directing and controlling these confidential informants, has utilized said informants to purchase illegal narcotics from suspects and residences. Has conducted undercover purchases of illegal narcotics and successfully assisted in the prosecution of numerous defendants.
