Experienced network engineer with a strong background in Remote-PHY (R-PHY) and Virtual CMTS (vCMTS) deployments, incorporating advanced DOCSIS technologies such as OFDM/OFDMA and Full Duplex (FDX). Extensive history of implementing and troubleshooting Motorola, Arris I-CMTS, and Cisco I-CMTS/M-CMTS platforms. Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade routing solutions from Cisco, Juniper, and Arista that include working with ISIS, BGP, RIP, and OSFP.
Working with Next Generation Network Access (NGAN)/Distributed Access Architecture (DAA) organization on the Remote Phy team for devices connected to the V-CMTS. Current responsibilities are for integration and taking new tech and helping operationalized it with our RPHY team. Previous projects were implanting OFDMA in the 42-85 MHz (mid split) range and experimenting with high split (108-204 MHz range). We currently support Harmonic and Commscope RPDs and R-Shelf, and Harmonic R-switches (PON). Latest project is helping operationalized Full-Duplex DOCSIS (FDX) on the new FDX capable RPD hardware.
Started as a CMTS engineer working with Cisco UBR7200's, Motorola BSR64000 and the Arris C4 CMTS. Configuring CMTS's for stand ups, node moves, troubleshooting RF impairments and CMTS issues. Progressed to being responsible for Implementing and developing processes and troubleshooting for then new CMTS technology for Arris E600, Cisco CBR, and Sumitomo FSU7100 OLT, and provide training supporting multiple teams. Worked on network migrations for the CMTS and video/multicast devices to the next gen CRAN devices of Juniper MS and QFX series routers, Arista QFX, and Cisco ASR9000/CRS series routers.
