  • Initiated evaluations of allegation from complainants to determine if they met the standard for acceptance as properly filed complaint with OCR including contacting the complainant to ensure all relevant information and forms were provided for the complaint.
  • Drafted dismissal letter for any allegation that did notnot meet the standard for a complaint.
  • Updated internal case management system to ensure accuracy of all phases of investigation.
  • Drafted notification letter to complainants and recipients that OCR was opening a complaint for investigation as well requesting relevant evidence from both complainants and recipients via data requests asking for any written, electronic, video, and audio records and witness identities and contact information.
  • Conducted personal interview of witnesses.
  • Developed statements of case including jurisdictional citations, background information, relevant evidence, legal analysis and conclusions.

  • Additionally, I served as the Regional Office's FOIA Coordinator inputting received requests into the FOIA system, settling up folder in the FOIA document management system and uploading requested records, review and redacting these records with applicable FOIA Exemption codes, reviewing redactions made by other FOIA team members and making corrections as necessary, ensuring that no Personally Identifiable Information (PII) was release pursuant to the Privacy Act, and drafting acknowledgement and closure letter for the Regional Director's review and signature. Closing out the request in the FOIA system and releasing the requested records to the requesting party.
  • Though knowledge of Title VI, Title IX, The Rehabiliation Act of 1973, Title II the Americans with Disabilities Act including physical accessibility, and the Age Discrimination Act.
  • Have acted as tutor and reference source for colleagues, new hires and management.
