As A Denver Deputy Sheriff I was assigned to manage and supervise pre-service and active service Deputies in training. I acted as A lead firearms instructor for Denver Sheriff pre-service recruits for approximately 25 years. The Denver Sheriff firearms program is a 100-hour program. My function is to ensure they are performing to the department rules, regulations, post orders and the law. My role also was to protect the constitutional and civil rights of the inmates in the Denver detention facilities. As a Deputy working in housing units I managed up to 100 inmates. The normal number of inmates that I managed was 64. I Was assigned to the Departments Emergency response Unit from 2004-2012. This unit performs transport and court functions for high risk and violent inmates. 2006-2008 I acted as a full-time Firearms instructor at the Denver Police Range.
