Accomplishments

I was awarded Teacher of the Year at Utah Schools for the Deaf and Blind in 2011


I was instrumental in supporting Anchor Center for Blind Children in developing research and validating a vision screener that can detect a cerebral visual impairment, the leading cause of blindness in children in the US, as early as at birth.


I was picked to be on the Oversight and Planning Committee in collaboration with Family Voices on developing and implementing a study for the Community Deafblind Intervener Program that has now been legislated and passed as a bill to become widely accessibly for any family of a child with deafblindness for ages birth to 21.
