This was my own business that I operated during most of these jobs selling freeze dried fruit. I recently dissolved the company this March do to my lack of passion in the food industry. We were in a number of stores in Loveland and were communicating with stores in Fort Collins and Berthoud. This company of mine taught me how to sell not only my product, but myself. This business had me communicating and solving needs for customers and businesses on a daily basis. The number one thing I would say I learned from the journey of being a business owner. Without a doubt in my mind, would be perseverance and ability to adapt.

This was a family business. This was a mobile ninja warrior obstacle course. I worked with set up and obviously helped run the course for the kids. Here I learned to sell an experience to people and to convince them that this crazy looking course was worth their time.

Being at the bottom rung as a courtesy clerk, you do all the "dirty work" no one else wants to do. Pushing carts, cleaning spills, and running back product. However, my favorite part of the job was bagging. This is because when I was bagging it was just me and the customer. It allowed me to provide a service for them that they maybe couldn't do quickly themselves or just enjoyed a small break from. Not to mention the connection I could make with someone during that time, asking them about their day or whatever it was. Then, the very next day asking them about their kid's tournament or the promotion they were gunning for. Nothing quite beats that connection.

At this job I was a helping hand for a independent contractor. I did everything manual labor related from drywall, flooring, painting, insulation, and roofing. This being one of my first "adult" jobs a few years ago; gave me a opportunity to apply my grit and stick it out on what most people might consider, really hard jobsites or really hard days.
