Brian Alejandro Ayos Hernández

Music educator, researcher, and flautist with almost five years of experience across primary, secondary, and tertiary education, complemented by university-level research engagement. My professional profile integrates music education, instrumental pedagogy, curriculum development, performance, and educational research, with a particular interest in evidence-based approaches to musical learning and teaching. I have experience designing and delivering interdisciplinary music curricula, developing students’ musical literacy and critical thinking, and integrating music theory, performance practice, and arts appreciation into meaningful learning experiences. As an Adjunct Researcher at Griffith University, I have contributed to research activities involving qualitative and quantitative approaches, strengthening my capacity for systematic inquiry and evidence-informed practice. I also contribute to the academic community through peer review, having reviewed two research manuscripts in music psychology and arts education for a Q1 journal published by SAGE. As an Adjunct Researcher at Griffith University, I have developed and conducted independent research projects in music education and educational practice in collaboration with Dr Kanasa and Dr McCormack. This research engagement has strengthened my capacity to undertake the research process independently and rigorously, from the formulation of research questions and methodological design through to ethics approval, data collection, analysis, and scholarly dissemination.

Academic peer reviewer for a Q1 journal in music psychology, contributing to the scholarly review process through the critical evaluation of research manuscripts in music psychology, music education, and related fields. Since 2025, I have completed two peer reviews, both formally recorded and independently verifiable through my Web of Science Researcher Profile. This role has strengthened my ability to critically assess research questions, methodological rigour, theoretical frameworks, data interpretation, and the scholarly contribution of empirical research, while contributing to the quality and integrity of academic publishing.
