While working for a production stair company in Louisville for 9 years, I started to design and build furniture. I continued pursuing this newfound passion when I joined Watson Mills & Design in Lafayette. I was able to expand my skills, patience, and attention to detail in woodworking. I moved to Florida and was able to work for a high end two man furniture company, using a lot of custom veneer applications. My position required producing and installation of all our projects. I thoroughly enjoyed working from start to finish on these projects. I loved the work, but also was developing a new goal. I wanted to move back to Colorado, build my own business and be near my family. For 3 years I have built and finished some large furniture projects from a tiny one car garage. I was able to learn how to spray higher end acrylic finishes, and get a General Contractor license along the way. In the last year i completed two fairly large remodels, using part time labor, but mostly a one man operation. To address the elephant in the room, I am not staying busy enough to continue being a contractor. The goal was to structurally modify living areas, and build the custom furniture in the new space.
I love the process of designing, figuring out the execution, and the build. I have a genuine interest in learning new skills, and the processes to apply them. Like a lot of people, I have been very interested in recreational vans since the concept exploded with the pandemic. I think I can bring exceptional value, and skill to your company, and would enjoy the chance to talk about a position with you.
