As a tour guide at the Stanley Hotel, I lead 4–8 tours a day for groups of up to 20 guests. I keep people engaged for an hour by sharing stories about the hotel’s history, ghost folklore, Stephen King’s The Shining, and even the local “Frozen Dead Guy.” I make sure each tour runs smoothly, answer questions on the fly, and create a fun, memorable experience for every group.
This was a seasonal job I held throughout high school, where I spent the day riding up and down on the gondola. I ensured guest safety, answered questions, counted riders, and collected tickets. I also helped keep the area clean by managing trash and maintaining restrooms.
At Starbucks, I took orders, made drinks, and kept the café running smoothly. I worked in a fast-paced environment where I balanced making complicated custom drinks with keeping customers happy. I also helped keep things stocked while making sure people left with a good experience (and hopefully their favorite coffee). On top of this, I helped maintain a clean and welcoming environment by taking out trash, cleaning restrooms, mopping and sweeping floors, and wiping down counters.
