Holds executive positions for five (5) years and has 15 years of experience in formulating and implementing policies, plans, programs, and projects focused on managing, conserving, and controlling coastal and marine resources. Expertise lies in utilizing an ecosystem-based approach to actively involve local communities. Played a key role at the CORALINA Corporation in preparing the Archipelago Department as the Seaflower Biosphere Reserve for UNESCO's "Man and the Biosphere" program. Extensive experience in environmental and ecological education programs in the Municipality of Providencia, working to defend and protect the seas and coasts of the Archipelago Department of San Andrés, Providencia, and Santa Catalina in Colombia. Implemented plans, programs, projects, and strategies to generate sustainable livelihood alternatives and reduce poverty for coastal communities within the Seaflower Biosphere Reserve. Background in strategic planning as the Acting Regional Director of the National Learning Service (SENA) in the Archipelago Department - Colombian Caribbean for one (1) year.
