Childcare Provider

Amy's Ark Llc
01.2000 - 03.2020
  • I opened my in home licensed childcare in January 2000. In order to open my business I had to take the required state trainings yearly, obtain my business license, market and advertise my childcare program to potential clients, and maintain accurate accounting records for tax purposes. It was crucial that I ensured I had good communication with my clients, and listened to their needs and requirements for proper and healthy care for their children. I made sure we had an open and honest client and provider relationship because I wanted my home to be a safe, loving, and engaging "home away from home" for the children in my care. Good communication and honest feedback are important to a good business. I was able to empathetically deal with difficult situations that arose, such as communication about a child's behavior difficulties, learning challenges, and also respectfully handle payment issues. The most important aspect I grew in my business was a loving, safe, and engaging learning environment. Treating my clients and their children as I would want myself and my own children to be treated is what drove my business model and decisions. My goal was to love and care for families in such a way that we remained family even after they left my care.
