Work History

Pharmacy Student Technician - Technician II

Denver Health
2024.04 - Current
  • Started as a student tech with no clinical or pharmacy knowledge and am now a pharmacy tech 2 working on promoting to tech 3. I joined the student tech program that Denver health offered and in as little as 3 months completed all my courses and got my PTCB license 3 additional months later. Being the only fluent spanish speaker has made the "go-to" tech when helping with translation and helping pharmacist counsel patients on their meds. Working with patients has solidified my conflict resolution skills, multitasking and organization. I can properly and professionally communicate with insurance and providers in order to give the patients their very important medications that may sometimes be life saving. I manage inventory, keep shelves stocked, fill meds and try to keep the pharmacies stock budget at a reasonable level. I am a lot of the patients favorite and get quite a bit of recognition for my friendliness, willingness to help and for my problem solving skills.

Flooring / Tool Rental / Cashier Associate

Home Depot #1551
2019.08 - 2024.04
  • Having prior knowledge in tile/floor installation I was hired as a flooring associate at the home depot where I was able to work with customers a lot closer and provide proper knowledge of our products. My department also sold carpets, blinds and all types of flooring so I was able to guide customers to the best options when taking their budget, projects and ideas into consideration. I also created quotes and appointments for customers when they wanted to purchase a larger quantity of our products and have them professionally installed. I helped anywhere I could and was the first person to be called to help the paint department whenever short staffed. The tool rental manager at the time noticed me and offered me a position where I could work one on one with customers better. I learned to clean, prepare and rent all types of equipment from shovels and chainsaws to excavators and vehicles. After 2022 I stepped down to part-time and switched to a cashier with plans to go back to school and search for a career.

Electrician

Overall Electric LLC
2022.03 - 2022.06
  • In this position I was taught how to read/translate blueprints and accurately install the light switches, outlets and ultimately wire the whole room together. Thanks to prior knowledge with simple tools like drills, hammers and pliers I was able to complete my tasks and learn my job at an incredible pace. Within 6 weeks I was on my own with little supervision wiring rooms together and reading blueprints on my own. I did get to learn how to use new equipment like excavators, boom lifts and scissor lifts to complete bigger projects. Unfortunately I suffered an out of work injury that left me injured and unable to stand for over 2 months, costing me my apprenticeship.

Associate / Manager in Training

Neighborhood Walmart
2017.04 - 2019.04
  • This was my very first job and although I was still in school I was able to keep up with my school work and get a promotion at Walmart. I started in the front end as a cashier, cart pusher and greeter. I would straighten up the all register aisles and the stocking manager immediately took me to work in the back once I graduated high school a couple months later. I helped management whenever they needed help with translation and hiring non english speakers. I was given the chance to manage my own night crew at the age of 17. I would unload semi trucks with regular and electric pallet jacks, make sure all merchandise was stocked and the backroom was cleaned before the morning shift arrived. I stayed til 3am sometimes to finish any work that was left by any of the night crew and would still back up the front end whenever needed. I quickly became the managers go-to associate whenever a big task and needed a reliable associate.
