This was a camp for kids and adults with Down syndrome or autism. It was a week-long camp that focused on singing, dancing, and performance-based activities.
As a volunteer, I was on stage leading and helping the campers follow the choreography, remember their lines, and make sure they remembered what they were doing.
There were multiple costume changes in the performance, and as a volunteer, I was in charge of my group of campers, helping them get the correct costumes on.
This camp allowed me to form close relationships with campers, and become a mentor to several of the campers throughout the week.
Helped with the setup and breakdown each day of the camp and after the performance.
I participated as a volunteer for two years in a row.
