Major Duties – Tier 1 support for NBCUniversal multi-national video distribution center

• Perform maintenance and troubleshooting for the following departments –
• NBC and Telemundo national network playout across 4 US time zones
• Affiliate network hub for 30+ NBC and Telemundo owned & operated stations
• Disaster recovery and streaming services for all NBC sports + cable channels
• Transmission control for satellite uplink/downlink across 3 master earth stations
• Uses knowledge of h.264 compression, SMPTE 2110 multicast, RF/ASI/SDI/IP video transport, switches, routers, comms, ingest and automation systems to provide expert recovery and mitigation of issues as they occur.
• First response for all broadcast issues from playout to end user
• Responds to outage calls from operations team and leads initial response to any technical issues
• Works with internal subject matter experts and vendors to resolve problems as necessary
• Works with a highly skilled team to provide resolution locally and remotely across the country
• Assists with implementation of software upgrades and system maintenance
• Performs periodic maintenance procedures such as system health checks and proactive system restarts

Develops the skills to act as subject matter expert for a collection of intertwined technologies within the facility and across the country

• - Manage and drive reliability within a fast-paced, multichannel on-air operations environment and maintain 99.999% on-air availability and reliability for all stations - Actively participate in the operation's change control procedures by approving and maintaining awareness of all on-air maintenances by managing critical components of maintenance operating procedures - Deliver exceptional customer service with an unwavering desire to fulfill customers' needs - Train operators in operational best practices, issue resolution and recovery
• Facilitate day-of-air changes across multiple departments including Sales, Traffic, Programming, Promotions and News operations - Developed a deep knowledge of the operation's technical architecture and on-air systems - Manage the end-to-end execution of all live events including preparation, in-event execution and off-air adjustments - Resolve issues quickly and effectively to prevent on-air discrepancies - Deliver exceptional customer service with an unwavering desire to fulfill

• - Drive reliability within a fast-paced, multichannel on air operation environment and work to maintain 99.999% on-air availability and reliability for all channels. - Apply critical day of air changes dictated from Traffic to over 70 plus automation playlists. - Track and manage media deliveries and purges to and from the on-air playout environment - Liaise with customers from the Owned Stations' Traffic and Promotions team to request missing media and ensure timely delivery of materials to the on-air playout environment. - Fulfill daily log append procedures to ensure continuity across all automation playlist - Manage and maintain 10+ backup lists to provide redundancy and disaster recovery for the Owned stations

• - Responsible for maintaining the availability and reliability for NBCUniversal's on-air channel streams - Problem solve in a fast paced environment which include maintaining and manipulating on-air playlists - Executing program/commercial/marketing changes - Manage live-event and off-air workflows - Sending logs for reconciliation and troubleshooting channel playout issues - Monitor and maintain the continuity and availability for 60+ channel streams
