2023 Middle/High School Mini-Conferences shared Student Developed Leveled Question strategies in a 50-minute presentation. Presentation included a video
of students practicing socratic seminars in small groups. The purpose of this
‘mini-conference’ was to provide concrete examples of how to use discussion and engagement strategies to support student learning. Strategies are used to support the learning targets and objectives of the unit.

2020 Earned a Foundational English Language endorsement PreK-12
2014-2017 active role on the Instructional team by serving as the ELA Department Chair facilitating department meetings monthly as well as attending trainings and meeting with administration.
2013-2017 commended on being one of four teachers instrumental in piloting the 6th-grade Fertitta Academy. Inspired after having visited the Ron Clark Academy, a middle school in Atlanta named after the 2000 recipient of the Disney Teacher of the Year award, to learn about a behavioral model used there. The model stresses that "manners matter" and encourages students to make eye contact with speakers, stand while speaking, always use honesty and remain positive while being challenged by a rigorous and accelerated curriculum. Both students and parents committed to partaking in philanthropic opportunities and extra field trips. Data showed a 39% decrease in expulsions and a 24% decline in suspensions. By using the new data provided in the Interactive Item Summary Report, educators may uncover new trends and patterns. 01/08/2013 Launch Into Teaching-DEA Measuring Growth Using DEA Description of Training: After establishing assessment one baseline, educators will be introduced to the Comparative Growth Report. Using a scaffold approach, participants will build on prior knowledge gained from session one and begin a new level of data exploration. Educators will utilize class data to create skill targets for students. Participants will learn new strategies for implementing Progress Zone including adding teacher made items and sharing probes with their colleagues. 6/23 & 25/ 2008 Using Microsoft Word, Level 1 Description of Training: Using Microsoft Word, Level 1 This course will familiarize participants with the basics of Word for Windows and will provide information on how to utilize computer technology to enhance the classroom and learning environment. Participants will acquire a basic understanding of how to customize Word documents as well as how to use shortcuts to create files. Some familiarity with using Windows, a mouse, and keyboard, and working with files and folders is recommended. Delivery of course content is composed of ten hours of face-to-face sessions combined with five hours online completing assignments and communicating with other participants and the instructor.

April 16 & 23, 2005 IDMS: "UNWRAPPING THE STANDARDS" SE Region-ES-3rd Grade Teachers Description of Training: This training is a continuation of the implementation of the 'Focus on Standards Model' and will assist the teachers in developing more purposeful planning and delivery of instruction. As a regular part of Structured Teacher Planning Time, 'Unwrapping the Standards' provides a road map for teachers to design instructional activities that provide the appropriate level of content instruction for each of their students. For this reason, we strongly recommend that a school send the same team of teachers who attended the December IDMS training on Structured Teacher Planning Time. Teachers attending the training will be expected to return to their schools and conduct training sessions for their colleagues.
September 9, 2004, Number Sense and Place Value Seminar: Grade 2,3 Description of Training: Teachers attending these seminars will have the opportunity to engage in articulation with colleagues from their school as well as from across the district at their own grade levels. They will explore various materials, methods, and tools for teaching basic facts, developing strong number sense, and reinforcing and teaching of operations and place value.
