  • Managed an EPC contract to scale-up a proprietary water treatment technology
  • Scale-up to 25.000 BWPD of a Process technology proven at 60 BPD

  • Coordinated the design of facilities to handle 10.000 KBOPD of fluids including oil, water and gas treatment process as well as electrical and mechanical infrastructure to gather and dispose produced fluids
  • Prepared bidding documents to contract early facilities equipment supply and oil export trucking services
  • Executed study to implement geothermal energy, Organic Ranking Cycle and hydrogen generation for existing projects and future commercial projects
  • Teca Field Steamflood Pilot and Commercial Development
  • Design of facilities to handle 180.000 BPD of fluids and generate 180.000 BPD CWE of steam
  • Coordinated all engineering efforts for Teca-Cocorna Field Development reporting to the Facilities Lead
  • Supervised four Oxy employees, twelve seconded engineers
  • Supervised the work that engineering companies such as Technip and Summum were carrying on
  • Optimized the design concept of 180K facilities to reduce costs and minimize risks associated with the operation

  • Performed basic and detail engineering of the Teca-Cocorna Phase 1 project (pilot)
  • As part of my duties, I was responsible of:
  • Process design and engineering support to the other engineering disciplines of the project such as mechanical, piping, etc
  • Construction follow-up (field assignment)
  • Pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up
  • System troubleshooting and modifications to achieve optimal and safe operation
  • Conducted the conceptual engineering of project commercial development
  • Oversaw the coordination of the engineering efforts of the different disciplines involved in the work
  • Awarded with two recognitions for innovation during the execution of this work
  • Supported HES during the PMA (Enviromental premits) study and report
  • Provided the engineering support needed to complete the document
  • While performing this task, I worked on the conceptualization of different development alternatives/scenarios
  • I developed a Cost Estimation spreadsheet to establish costs associated with infrastructure and facilities to run project economics
  • This total was forwarded to PMO
  • Supported Major Projects on the conceptualization of the steam generation facilities using carbon as fuel
  • I was the interface between Major Projects and OXY Colombia
  • Worked on the FEED Engineering bid tender documents
  • After the bid was awarded, I was the Engineering Leader and contract administrator during the execution of the work (180K) and during the execution of Module 1 -30 K project
  • Developed a model to estimate flow distribution using commercial simulators and test fields
  • Supported the introduction of new technologies within the project
  • De-oiling of the produced water using microbubble technologies is one example of this achievement.
